Rhythms of the Ravine: A Movement Exploration in Cedarvale

Ria Kapoor

Dear curious humans of Toronto,

Join me for an immersive exploration of movement, mindfulness, and connection to nature. Participants are invited to engage their bodies with public spaces and the environment in a dynamic and intuitive way.

We'll kick off our walk with a group meditation session, allowing us to ground ourselves and set the intention for our exploration. From there, we'll gently stretch our bodies, energize with some free-form dancing, and move intuitively through the ravine.

To enhance our experience and deepen our connection to the rhythms that move us, together, please bring your own headphones and device to listen to music during the walk. Let's sync our movements to the beats of our chosen tunes as we immerse ourselves in the natural beauty surrounding us.

It can often feel challenging to move our bodies freely in the public space and around others. This walk is all about embracing the freedom to move, shake, and play in harmony with nature and sitting with the discomfort it can evoke. Everyone is welcome to join. There's no need for any prior experience – just bring an open mind and a willingness to connect with yourself and your surroundings.

Together, we'll celebrate the joy of movement, the beauty of public parks, and the sense of community fostered by our shared exploration. So come dressed comfortably, as hands-free as possible and let's move, shake, and discover together! Let’s be FREE!
